The Elmira Corning Regional Airport is among 13 upstate New York airports awarded federal funding for projects. (Photo credit: New York governor's office) Airports serving Watertown, Rome, Saranac Lake, and the Elmira/Corning area will use federal funding for specific projects and airfield safety. The regional airports are among 13 awarded a total of more than $27.3 million in federal funding, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D–N.Y.) and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D–N.Y.) announced Thursday.
