News CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Chemung County Sheriff's Office announced on Thursday, October 5th that the department will take part in the DEA's nationwide prescription Drug Take Back Initiative. Set for Saturday, October 28th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Chemung County residents are being encouraged to bring in their expired and unused medications. Officials ask that medications are kept in their original containers, but people are allowed to black out the names listed on the medication.
